The new Commuters

Polish Emilia (29 yrs) works at Printing House Kampert in Oss in the Netherlands and lives in a holiday bungalow with five other migrant workers. She is one of an estimated 100 000 Eastern European migrant workers active in the Netherlands. Most just stay a few months and then return home. Emilia too thinks she will only stay nine months all together. Every three weeks she travels 2200 km to be home for one full day and see her husband and daughter and the rest of her family.  A minivan from transport company Seget specialises in taking people like Emilia home for the weekend.

After just 24 hours at home in Poland Emilia travels back 1200 km to Oss to be in time for work on Monday.
